Depending on how advanced you wanna go, you could use this really simple div overly generator (which will hide all of your page, and you can place in your comment box code so thats the only thing people will see).

Click on the page below and it will take you to the generator maker. Chose the first sample (its a square) and follow the steps!

okay... when you get a layout it will be a background on your page.

In order to get a comment box if you want one you goto google and type in comment boxes

then you copy and paste the code

and where it says "insert friend id here!!!!" you open another internet go on your myspace and get your friend id.. its the last part of your url thing in the website box

Don't waste your time going to a generator if all you want to do is add a background to your site.

Just put the following into the very beginning of your about me:

Just replace black with whatever color you want it to be. If the color you want is specific like navy blue or whatever, I would suggest you put HEX values in its place. Those can be find in a Google search. There are a wide variety of colors.

I have premade layout. I'm not technically savvy enough to invent my own. When you update your mood and your smiley, some of my layouts don't show what I've typed, just the updated smiley. Is there a way to type over the text in the box they've provided?

just go on image search and try to find the background you liked, then upload it to your image host, once you have done that find a profile generator, codesource.com, divaglitter.com is really good no problems and it will take you from there, it will ask you for the URL you the image you want to use.

Then jsut go back and find a contact bock generator, an extended network generator, and add the the codes of any images you want on your layout for example interest music etc.

You only put the tag that is background=" " onto your page. Make sure to copy the brackets that are around it.

look in the code, there should be a link somewhere in it that starts with http:// and an image looking link. google "thomas' myspace editor" and just make your own layout but use the link you copied from the other layout and put it in.

Myspace background?

Ok, I'm working on a new profile on myspace, cuz I had problems with the old one, so It's gonna be deleted... Anyway I did all the background and stuff on my old profile but I totally forgot how I did it. If I try it on the sites, where I thought I did it, it won't turn out like I want it to.

I wanna upload my choice of a pic for a background. I know I did that before and I could choose everything I wanted. I don't wanna have a premade layout and background. You know what I mean?

Of course, I'm a slacker and won't write it myself, so I take a simple premade layout, but i edit it in notepad. Just add basic tags and fonts. Numerous sites teach you.

NOTE: the preview almost never looks like the actual layout.So be careful.

How do u remove the flashes that com with the premade layouts on myspace it's really ignoring?

the only way to remove those is to either not use a premade code OR to remove the flash from the code... but removing the flash from the code would most likely violate there terms and conditions, so maybe just put a link to there site somewhere else on the page.... :)

you probably want to host your picture on a free picture website such as www.photobucket.com. you set up an account for free and upload your pictures from folders saved on your computer or on the internet. you might have to shrink some snapshots taken with cameras before you can upload. but once the desired photo is uploaded, you are provided three codes to post the photo in. i usually use the second, which reads %26lt;a heref...%26gt; since I have been posting photos. good luck!

The myspace profile editor messed up my profile, help!?

i used it to make a layout. but i decided to use another one so i did and it somehow used both layouts and it looked horrible and things were all messed up. so i "cleared all" on the editor and deleted the premade one and it just reverted to a bland gray screen and still will not let me use a premade one. any ideas as to how to rectify this?

try this:

in the profile editor, click "clear all" and "ok" on the pop-up warning. DO NOT do anything else.. simply click out of the page (like another myspace link.. home, blogs, etc.) this will return your profile to the default (white) myspace layout. now you can simply copy/paste your scripts/codes into your 'about me' section or what not and your scripts/codes should work.

its a default layout.. just like when you first get your myspace.. the center table is white..if you change the bg to your page.. then THAT table is still gonna be white.. unless you set it to transparent.. or to another color... person up there.. no.. its not a skinny layout....

you can change somewhere in there the color to the table..

in the body{ blah blah blah.. you're gonna find the bg image url and stuff like that. and the color.. well. you're gona find the word Transparent... just change that to a color...

part of it looks like this

look through the code and find "photobucket or tinypic" picture urls. [yes theres a couple of them in the code]

you'll need to resize the image using an image editing program (paint, photoshop, etc.). in your case though, the problem would be DISTORTING the image since it's small and you're wanting to make it bigger. it's hard to determine the right resolution to use to fill the whole page when monitors themselves vary in resolution.

The best,fast and easy way i've found to make DEFAULT layouts is http://www.ilyts.net/generators/default-... just add the url of a picture or pick a solid color and click generate and you can preview them before you use it to make sure its exactly what you want.

Of course, I'm a slacker and won't write it myself, so I take a simple premade layout, but i edit it in notepad. Just add basic tags and fonts. Numerous sites teach you.

NOTE: the preview almost never looks like the actual layout.So be careful.

that probably means that the code is CSS or DIV (an overlay profile). if you want the general section back, you'll probably have to get a new layout that uses the standard settings, otherwise it could mess up the way the profile looks if you just take that part out. if you want some cool layouts, www.mygen.co.uk has some really good ones. hope it helps.

Undo hover effects on premade myspace layout?

I like the premade layout(hotfreelayouts), but I dont like the hover effects on links and images. I already tried putting the codes I want in the About Me section, but nothing changes. It is still the same. I was able to do that with this one layout I had but since I changed it, I can't. Is there anything I'm doing wrong. I dont want to change the layout, because I love it, I just want to change the image, hover effects. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

a:hover img {filter:gray;}

Does anyone think that myspace is for loser teens who can't web design?

Don't get me wrong, I am a teen, But I have been a pure web CODER since 5th grade (yes, 5th grade). It makes me so mad that my classmates think that they are tech-savvy if they have a blog, or myspace, when all they do is use premade layouts, and fill in blanks.
